"Beginning in itself has no value, it is an end which makes beginning meaningful, we must end what we begun." - Amit Kalantri
Starting The Enigma of the V was something I didn't plan for. It is primarily a child of circumstance. I am so happy I did start it, no doubt! But all good things must, at some point, come to an end. I do say this with confidence. I admit, though... I don't see myself as a skilled writer. However, I believe the world and characters I've created are true masterpieces. Writing the story was only a means to an end. A stepstone to be one step closer to attaining what I hope for. What is it I hope for, you ask? I hope for The Enigma of the V to receive an anime adaptation.
To be honest, things don't look too promising in that respect. Every experience I've had so far should have led me to give up on this dream and invest my time and efforts into something else... anything else. But even after two years since I started this journey, my excitement has not dwindled even a little.
Every time I read through the chapters of the story for editing purposes (believe me, I've lost count of all the times I've done edits of the story... I'm currently doing another round of edits while I upload the final chapters), I can see the story play out. I don't only see it play out... I experience it. It is so surreal... I hope other people will be able to experience it as well. I can understand it not being everyone's cup of tea. But no one can deny the effort and thought that went into crafting this world and its characters.
Come to think of it, what I've done with The Enigma of the V is the same thing I used to do when I was a kid. I used to love creating my own comics. I read both Marvel and DC comics in my childhood. Those epic stories inspired me to make my versions of those stories. I created through hand-drawn comic books. They were pretty short stories, but stories, nonetheless. Sadly, I've lost most of the stories I created back then. But The Enigma of the V is something that came to be in 2020, and yet the main characters were created in my teen years.
It is a story that pays homage to many other anime, live-action TV shows, video games, and even real people and places. Reality and fantasy clashed within the story in such a way that it wouldn't be farfetched for me to think that the story actually happened to me or someone I know. I may be exaggerating... but then again... maybe not?
All this is just me thinking out loud. If you've read up to this point, I am truly grateful for your time. Will you come with me on this journey? The end is near... a pigeon told me all about it.
